Rainier Industries implements Epicor Customer Connect

Rainier Industries is an US provider of high quality display, shade, and shelter solutions, which has been  operating on the market since 1896. The company started to use e-commerce site at the end of 2017. The purpose of the venture was mainly improvement of very time-consuming B2B ordering. Earlier, company had several manual data entries, which caused errors, duplications and discrepancies. The manual way of entering and processing orders was inefficient and ineffective.

Rainier uses Epicor Software Corporation ERP System, that is why their natural choice was Epicor’s Commerce Connect e-commerce platform. The result has exceeded expectations of the company. Rainier has achieved its main goal – lead time was reduced 20%, and, at the same time, sales in shade division raised 14% in 2018. Moreover, Epicor e-commerce platform is also very useful for Rainier’s vendors, because it helps to fill orders remotely, without the intermediation of sales representatives.

Due to such good results, Rainier decided to extend the system to other departments - tent and outdoor products divisions.

“Integrating our e-commerce site and ERP system allows data to flow directly from the site to the ERP system, making the transfer of information more accurate and efficient. We can process and fulfill orders faster, which has increased sales volume.” - says Tony Eder, e-Commerce Manager in Rainier Industries. In the past, company had several data entry points. Decision to reduce it only to e-commerce site was right, because it allowed to increase efficiency and avoid mistakes at the same time.

New solution is also very attractive for company’s customers. They are able to follow their orders during realization process, check order history, and they receive e-mail confirmations, which was impossible before. It is very important for the company in term of communication with the clients.

The company plans further development towards on-line and mobile solutions, expecting another growth of efficiency.
